This review is for the 2015 menu. One word for it – SAD. Things may have changed so it might be worth the visit esp if money is not an issue for you. I’m sure there are better alternatives out there
Did a date night dinner here a few evenings ago with my husband and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely romantic ambiance, with low lighting which we like. Service was impeccable and the food/drinks were awesome. We got too full to order many things but we lived everything we tried. To drink we got the Lillet cup (fresh light minty goodness), whiskey a l’orange (hubs loved this whiskey beverage), mixologist choice scotch drink (waiter said he would surprise us and hubs was not disappointed), and le spicy (loved this-the terragon really made the drink so fresh and vegetal). To eat, we got their spicy Cesar (very fresh, flavorful, not too spicy, good serving size to share) and the escargot (holy moly the garlic butter they cook them in is like crack-make sure to soak up every bit of it with the bread it comes with!) Overall highly recommend for a nicer dinner out that still won’t break the bank)
Erin Konchanin was a saving grace in the hell that is apartment searching in NYC. I never considered working with a broker before, but Erin was able to find amazing listings that covered her fee, which meant that I paid nothing more, but got her amazing assistance with finding my dream apartment. I had a very specific criteria that I was looking for with a low budget, but she still found me a variety of spaces to view. She also had fantastic knowledge of the areas, and was able to provide me with recommendations on where to live. She negotiated rents and security deposits on my behalf, and made sure that I felt safe visiting properties. Erin was completely transparent with me throughout the process, and really made me feel like I could trust her to put my interests first. She was incredibly responsive through text at all hours, and was able to get viewings scheduled quickly and efficiently. Would 100% recommend working with Erin for your next apartment search, and will definitely be coming back to her for mine!
A wonderful salon. Easy online booking, great location and a large space that is decorated nicely. Prices are very reasonable and there’s many stylists available. Jill M is my stylist and she is fantastic. The appointment was super quick as well, single process color in about an hour and a half! I left with the hair color I wanted. I will for sure be returning as a repeat customer.
JANET IS THE BEST!! LOVE her! I recommend her to everyone and they are always beyond grateful! Even got my mother to come in and she adores Janet! I’ve been going to her for years now and my skin has completely changed. Night a day difference! With her treatments and recommendations, my skin is way better now than in my 20s. So thankful to have found her! Not only is she one of the most kind-hearted people you will ever meet, but she is truly the most skilled, thorough, and generous aestheticians you will ever find. By far the best I’ve found. (Just reading now, and it breaks my heart that one person left her a bad review! Admitting she was great, but just upset with not asking the price ahead of time? So annoying..) Also. I LOVE LAURIE! She couldn’t be more kind, cool, and good at her job! Always makes me feel so taken care of! Truly can’t say enough good things about this office. Their front desk workers go above and beyond. Always so sweet and helpful. Again, have been coming here for years and have never had one interaction that wasn’t amazing. Highly recommend!
So nice and helpful! I’ve only been twice for an acne facial and am already seeing amazing results. They also work with you to get a better routine in between appointments to help outside the spa as well. They also partner with dermalogica which is an amazing skincare brand in general! 10/10
If you’re in need of a Brazilian, I can’t urge you enough to request RITA! I’ve been to different EWC wax specialists at this location and in NYC. No one beats Rita. She may be a bit strong with getting your legs in the air, but trust me when I say she ENSURES you don’t have to come back for 4-6 weeks. Thank me later!
I went to get my back and shoulders waxed. First time to this location. The treatment room was dirty, with wax and powder strewn about. At the start the wax was so hot I was nearly burned. No one on staff was wearing a mask correctly. I paid $106 plus tip for a service that took 15 minutes. There is definitely a mismatch between price and quality here.
This experience was incredible. It was both upscale and premium feeling. The staff was welcoming and friendly and my esthetician made me feel comfortable and did an excellent job. My skin looked great afterwards (and I’m picky). She helped guide me in the selection of a daily facial moisturizer that has also been great. 10/10. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back.
Everyone at the Stanton Company is so nice and welcoming. This review is for our realtor, Meredith Bergmann, who was awesome during our home renting and buying. When we started looking for an apartment, we contacted several realtors looking for one that would help us find a rental prior to our move to Montclair. It was difficult since we lived in Chicago, couldn’t readily fly out, and didn’t know the area. We went with Meredith because she was the most enthusiastic and responsive. She went above and beyond, going to the apartments and facetiming with us and providing invaluable insight into the town. We loved her so much that we decided to hire her to help us find a home. She was so patient with us, first time buyers, as we asked to see many, many houses (I am embarrassed to admit how many, but it was a lot ha!) Meredith’s savviness and knowledge of the area helped us pinpoint the best areas to look given our lifestyle. In the end, she helped us develop a strategy to nab us a wonderful home and at a great price. During inspections and renovations she helped us find inspectors, contractors, and a fantastic designer. Meredith was great and I cannot recommend her enough.
Finding a great realtor can be a challenge, but on Staten Island there is no company more focused on protecting buyers and sellers than Casandra Properties. I would highly recommend them to anyone selling or searching for Staten Island real estate!

Technology amazes me everyday. I dropped by yesterday to do some amazon drop off returns and it was so cool. I can see myself grabbing a quick snack here if I was in a rush. Basically you need to download the app, sign into your account and it gives you a QR code to enter. You grab whatever you want and literally leave. Then they charge you automatically on your account. Unfortunately they don’t take amazon gift card/credit.
First time at an Amazon Go. It’s ok. I went to get coffee and there was no more coffee in the machine. Then I still got charged it on my Amazon account. Sigh.
Great neighborhood meat market with a good selection of imported groceries as well. Friendly, knowledgeable and reasonably priced
Positively the best Quality meat. They treat you nicely. Place is clean. Nice selection of things. Never do they gripe.
Wonderful foods, authentic spices and products that you cannot easily find. All items are halal friendly for the family. The Lamb, Beef, Chicken and Turkey are freshly prepared and cut to you specifications. The butcher selections are wonderful and don’t forget to mention the couscous and basmati rice prices are worth it! I used to travel all the way to Jackson heights from Bedstuy to get these authentic items that are halal and now I saved myself a 3 hour travel time by just heading downtown at Atlantic ave and stock up on our halal supplies for the family. This store has a wonderful atmosphere and you feel at home when you enter by seeing all the diverse and genuine products from all types of countries. We make a weekly trip to stock up on Ghee, Couscous, All our halal meats and poultry and sweets. Thank you Fertile Crescent for restoring our devotion to making our home healthy and halal-organic!
Freshly ground lamb for $8/lb is quite the nice get; meat here is a good move. Packaged baked goods not so much. Bean pies (from the amazing Abu’s) and parathas get kissed with the perfumes of the shop’s oils and ointments, a disappointing fate.
Saeed is the best butcher guy you’ll ever meet. He is honest and only sells you the best of the best and everything’s always fresh. I’ve been coming into him for almost 20 years. He recently moved from Atlantic Avenue to Smith Street on the corner of Sackett. If you ever want a good piece of meat that you can cook any which way this is your guy to go to. Forget organic when you have halal. It’s like the best organic meat. And also the most affordable prices! 5 star meat market
I found this place on yelp a year ago. I love the quality of meat here. I come all the way from Jersey to get the goat meat.
So happy this place opened close by. Super clean. Friendly staff. Been in a dozen times and never had an issue.
I had the most amazing facial today at Silver Mirror’s new location. My esthetician Marsha was awesome- she was incredibly communicative through the entire process and kept me feeling relaxed and at ease. The anti-aging facial includes exfoliation, chemical peel, LED therapy and muscle simulation. My face has never felt better! The salon is clean and has a great vibe. Can’t wait to go back!
I stayed at Avenues for 5 months. To say that Avenues saved my life would be a true but incomplete statement. It did save my life in the sense that I could not stop drinking before I checked myself in. I had been three times to three different long-term rehabs, and to so many five-day detox programs that I cannot count. Without family support I could not have afforded these treatments, but my family was at their wits end as to why I just could not stop drinking. I was baffled as well, and tearfully miserable. (As an aside, while narcotics are a part of my story, I had given them up over ten years ago and never looked back). I checked into Avenues and now I have been sober for 8 months and counting. More importantly, I am happy. I am more than sober. I cherish my sobriety like I cherish my children. I nurture it and watch it grow. I attend regular AA meetings and do service. Make no mistake I am not a religious man, and through schooling I have some professional training in psychology and cognitive behavioral techniques for making change. I find working the twelve steps of AA to be an effective and accessible cognitive behavioral technique for affecting change. I also find it to be a wonderful philosophy for lifelong practice and continual consideration. AA works for me, but Avenues never pushed it on me. Nor did Avenues introduce me to AA, but rather through attraction, and not promotion, it gave me assistance in learning how to love it. I think this is how Avenues works. The staff members are all in recovery themselves, and they all manage their recovery with success. They all live their lives in New York City, where I have been living (and for the last three years, dying). They all effectively face the daily challenges that I had been unable to manage without drinking (until everything fell apart, I had been a successful attorney for ten years). In the past, when I had departed in-patient rehabs, I had been blown apart by the challenges of living, thriving and surviving in the real world, and had relapsed right away. When I checked into Avenues I had hit rock bottom. They understood. They made me feel safe, and they gave me an agenda right away for going to meetings, seeing my children, and starting out in my life as I would like it to be, sober and in New York City. Now I regularly attend meetings, and I am a chair of a meeting at my home group. I have a sponsor and I am working my way through the steps. Avenues does not trumpet AA. Frankly all they want is for their clients to stay sober and find a way to get out of the house, and then come back sober and mentally o.k. If you are not both, they will ask you why and help you find a way to deal with it. They do not force you out of the house (and the house is beautiful and comfortable), but they create an atmosphere where you want to leave, and then you want to come home. I called it home for five months because it felt like home, though I kept my apartment on the Upper West Side (I am told this is not common practice, but it worked for me because it was important for me to see my children and my building has a playroom). When I left Avenues my pink cloud burst because of life events and also because I was living alone after having a 14-year marriage go up in smoke due largely to this disease. I leaned hard on Avenues through this difficult transition, and they were there for me 100%. They continue to be there for me. One thing I have realized in my recovery is that being there for other addicts somehow keeps me sober. In that vein, I am there for Avenues. P.S. As I write this, my sober friend is sitting with me and, though he has never been to Avenues nor met any of the staff, he says he wishes he could write a review for it too. A good one.
Amazing food!! The entire staff is extremely kind and welcoming. I've been coming here my entire life and am always happy to return. I would give more stars if I could! Try the calamari if you get the chance!!
This is testing review.
